Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is the Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist competing at flyweight of the UFC. She is older than her fellow UFC Fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began in the form of a Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and then defeated Suzane Mller in a unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko took home a second prize in 2007, with a bronze award in 2008. She also won a gold in 2011, and then was named the 2016 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thak Champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003, and she won an award at the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's fight for her final title took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The winner was a unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko set her debut professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She was able to win the second round TKO fight, and the subsequent two matches during the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003, resulting in an overall record of 3-0. Shevchenko stopped for a few minutes from MMA in order to focus on her kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui's fight in a unified decision. She was then able to defeat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 by a unanimous decision. The promotion ended in 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina employed her impressive fighting skills in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended after this win. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight following her first fight with a unanimous verdict. Antonina bounced back from the loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke. She was also awarded the fight of the night reward during the fight. Shevchenko had a 2-1-2 record over the next three fights, defeating Ariane Lipski and falling to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was lastly defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
